Scooter Rental Requirements
The renter must be qualified and posses the required skills and experience to safely operate the scooter they wish to rent.
The renter must be at least 21 years of age with a valid driver license. International licenses are accepted with few exceptions. Due to California law, residents of California must have a motorcycle endorsement. The Piaggo MP3 250/500 are exempt from the motorcycle endorsement requirement.
The operator, as well as passengers, must wear approved helmet at all times. A helmet is provided with rental.
A damage deposit of $800-1500 is required for all scooter rentals through credit card authorization only. We will not use this credit card authorization unless there is damage to the scooter. There is a $25, non-refundable, cancellation fee for all reservations.
We will charge your credit card for the number of days you anticipate to rent the scooter for.
In event of an accident the renter will be responsible for all cost incurred in the repair of the scooter as well as all costs associated with such repairs including retrieval, tows, fines, etc.
All of our rentals come with basic third party liability insurance. If you wish to carry more coverage, contact your insurance provider, or in some cases, your credit card company. If you need medical attention, the insurance that applies is your health insurance. Just like most car rental companies, bicycle rental companies, or Zip-cars, OUR scooter rentals do not insure your body or provide medical insurance. We recommend that you always hold adequate travel, health and accident insurance.
